Member - Jim Mackley Followed Walter into sunny Sunderland in October 1978, completing my 30 years in October 2008, having various roles predominately in uniform. Spent my last few years in the mounted section (1 horse power ), until a fall and subsequent broken wrist and shoulder confined me back to Sunderland. The bike riding was borne out of necessity when travelling up to Kirkley Hall Stables, Ponteland. Now riding a BMW 1200GS to comfort the old shoulder injury. The current Mrs Mackley ( Nic ) accompanies me on most/all rides, outside the football season of course ! |
